Based in San Francisco, Dr. Peter (Pete) Killcommons is the chief executive officer of Medweb. He founded the medical software and device company in 1992 and has since made numerous advances in the areas of radiology, telemedicine, and disaster response, including the invention of web-based radiology viewers. His medical achievements have been profiled in major publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle Business section. Dr. Peter Killcommons is also responsible for operating the company’s organized philanthropy program. In addition to managing operations at Medweb, he is a member of the International Virtual Electronic Hospital board of directors. He is also an active supporter of charitable organizations such as Laughs for the Troops and Wounded Warrior Project. His professional affiliations, meanwhile, include the American Medical Association and the American Telemedicine Association.
Dr. Pete Killcommons received his medical degree from New York Medical College, and is a cum laude graduate of the City College of New York. His professional interests include informatics and the security of medical data. Apart from his activities in the field of medicine, he enjoys flying. This includes working as a volunteer pilot during disaster response efforts.
